The following recipe may be addictive and can cause frictions between you and those around you if you won't make it often enough

For the chocolate wafers:
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened Dutch process cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons (1 1/4 sticks) room-temperature, unsalted butter
1 large egg
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

For the filling:
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) room-temperature, unsalted butter
1/4 cup vegetable shortening (I used more butter)
3 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) room-temperature, unsalted butter
1/4 cup vegetable shortening (I used more butter)
3 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
I also add about 3 spoons of cream cheese *
